Check out Mike's website to see what he has accomplished now! Raced Go-Karts, Mini-Sprints, and Winged Super-Modifieds. In 1998, his first year racing Mini-Sprints, he won 1998 Calumet County Raceway Association Track Champion, 1998 Wisconsin Mini-Sprint Association Rookie-of-the-Year, and 1998 CCRA Rookie-of-the-Year. Mike's site was one of my first, and it turns out to be one of the best sites I've created. During the race season, his site needs to be updated regularly. Site was last moved to a new host and redeveloped using a PHP-based CMS.

Perl's Country Inn

This was a site for a friend of Mike Kertscher (see above.) He owns a bar in St. Peter, Wisconsin and he wanted a simple, interactive web presence. We ended up using a popular CMS system to allow him to update most of the site sections himself. This allows him to keep the site and information fresh, which helps keep his customers entertained and informed.

Project '98

I made this site for my graduating class at high school. Truthfully, the whole reason behind creating this site wasn't to keep in contact with old high school buddies. It was more to challenge myself and keep myself busy on a public website. Not that I don't want to keep contact with some of my old friends, but why not challenge myself and help other people at the same time? I guess you could call it a very simple, early version of MySpace. I have found myself tweaking it and adding things that MySpace or Facebook have. It has grown into one of the sites where I practice a lot of my programming and databases. The newest version was just written in Ruby on Rails and MySQL to allow classmates to edit their own information. It may not be too exciting for anyone not from the high school.

Schroeder's Tool Welding

Schroeder's Tool Welding wanted a presence on the web. Something basic, but easy on the eyes. They wanted to give their customers information and potential customers an idea of what they can do. I purposely developed it so it was simple to edit via the HTML, if needed, by creating clean code and small pages. I also used a very nice open-source photo gallery that allows you to keep the visitor on one page while viewing the photos.

Zalewski Family Genealogy

This is a site I did to give people access to my family history and genealogy. I did a lot of research in the last few years and I'd like to help people with their family history. I just redesigned the site recently to make it look a little cleaner than it used to. The family tree portion runs on nicely designed system that allows live updating. This way I don't have to recompile the info everytime I update it. I can also just export it all from my Family Tree Maker software and upload it and it does everything else. Very nice stuff. We recently merged my family tree along with my wife's family tree information.
